A US middle school teacher from the state of Arkansas has been arrested for sexually abusing a teenager she met at a local church.

Reagan Gray, 26, was arrested earlier this month after it was found that she had sexual ties with a 15-year-old teenage boy since 2020. The two reportedly met while volunteering at the Little Rock Immanuel Baptist Church in the state capital, the New York Post reported.

The teenager’s parents reported the woman to a senior pastor at the church after finding several text messages on their son’s phone. According to court documents, she “bombarded” the teen with nude photos.

In February this year, it was reported that the teacher had been texting the boy on Snapchat. The woman in question was suspended from her volunteer work at Little Rock Christian Academy.

During the probe, the teenager told the US officials that Gray had given him oral sex but that they avoided intercourse so he could “stay pure,” according to court records. Gray had reportedly confessed during a counselling session in 2023 that “the relationship was sexual.”

Gray, currently employed at Sylvan Hills Middle School, was put on administrative leave in February. After the issuance of an arrest warrant, she was charged with sexual assault. she was released on a $20,000 bail.
