With the EURO 2024 right around the corner, questions galore have risen about the tournament and what to expect from the same.

Well, look no further, as we shall embark on a lowdown of what the esteemed European Championship, which begin on June 14, entail for us.

When and Where is EURO 2024 Taking Place?

This edition of the EURO Championship is taking place in Germany, and the tournament shall get going on the 14th of June at Munich, in the Allianz Arena, home of Bayern Munich, where Scotland will face off against hosts Germany.

This will be the first time that Germany has hosted the tournament since reunification, with the 1988 edition held in West Germany.

Which Teams Are Competing?

The EURO 2024 consists of 24 teams, split into six groups of four as follows:

Group A: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland

Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania

Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England

Group D: Poland, Netherlands, Austria, France

Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine

Group F: Turkey, Georgia, Portugal, Czech Republic

What Are The Stadiums Being Utilised?

Unlike at some recent World Cups, there’s been no rush to finish stadiums on time. All but one of Germany’s 10 venues hosted games at the 2006 World Cup and none have undergone major changes.

All capacities are given in the all-seated configuration used for Euro 2024, meaning the figure is typically lower than for club games where many fans can stand.

Here are the 10 stadiums being utilised to host the EURO 2024:

Berlin: Olympiastadion (70,000 capacity)

Cologne: Cologne Stadium (47,000),

Dortmund: BVB Stadion Dortmund (66,000)

Dusseldorf: Dusseldorf Arena (47,000)

Frankfurt: Frankfurt Arena (48,000)

Gelsenkirchen: Arena AufSchalke (50,000)

Hamburg: Volksparkstadion Hamburg (50,000)
