Cristiano Ronaldo did not have a fruitful outing in the Saudi Cup final after his side Al Nassr conceded a defeat at the hands of Al Hilal. Ronaldo left the ground in tears after suffering a loss in the summit clash. The defeat also meant that Ronaldo ended his second successive season in Saudi Arabia without a major trophy.

In a bid to strengthen the Al Nassr squad for the next season, Ronaldo has reportedly started making moves. It has now been learnt that the Portuguese legend is willing to bring two of his former Real Madrid teammates to Al Nassr.

Al Nassr’s defeat in the final came four days after the end of last season’s Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr had registered a second-place finish in the competition, with 14 points behind Al Hilal. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 35 goals and earned 11 assists in the last season of the Saudi Pro League.

As per an article published by Marca, Cristiano Ronaldo now intends to transfer a part of Real Madrid to Riyadh and he is trying to surround himself with his former teammates. The report went on to claim that Ronaldo is calling up his former Real Madrid team-mates Nacho Fernandez and Casemiro in a bid to convince the two players to sign for Al Nassr.

Marca reports that Nacho Fernandez received a call recently. The Spaniard had reportedly decided to move to the United States but he, eventually, had to relinquish his thoughts of making a switch to the Major League Soccer (MLS). Nacho recently led Real Madrid to their 15th European Cup title. With this, the 34-year-old picked up his sixth winners’ medal.

Casemiro, on the other hand, appears to be a more likely figure for Al Nassr to rope in. The Brazilian midfielder did not have an impressive campaign for Manchester United last season. Given his poor form at Old Trafford last season, Casemiro could very well make a move to Al Nassr this summer.

Casemiro is reportedly one of the joint-top earners at Manchester United. The 32-year-old earns around £350,000-a-week. The Brazilian international’s current contract at Manchester United has two years left.
