This Special Chaat In Rishikesh, Served On Leaf, Is Locals’ Favourite

Rishikesh, which is also known as Yog Nagari, is located in Uttarakhand. It is popular amongst travellers and pilgrims for its serene views, ancient temples, and other tourist places. One who visits Rishikesh can also find many continental cafes and restaurants that offer a wide range of food items to the visitors. It also has a host of meditation centres for visitors, Rishikesh also has a place where one can taste an amazing chaat, which is not only good in taste but also unique in the way it is served. Several such places across the city serve a variety of chaat, including the dahi bhalla, samosa chaat, and papdi chaat. The one that has garnered major attention from the people of Rishikesh and the ones visiting the place is known for being served in leaf.

The owner of the shop sets it up on a scooter on Triveni Ghat Road. Many people visit the location to eat here. While talking to Local18, the owner of Patti Wali Chaat shop, Kailash Arora said that he has been selling this chaat near the Triveni Ghat for the past five years. He has been getting major praise for the taste and uniqueness of the chaat.

Describing how he prepares the chaat, Kailash said that he takes curd, crispy kachori, chutney, boiled potatoes and serves them together on a leaf. He also stated that the leaf used to serve this chaat is special and is not available everywhere. It has health benefits as it helps in better digestion when the food is served in it. The leaf is called a Malu leaf.

If you live in Rishikesh or are planning to visit, you can also go to this Patti wali chaat and have a medium plate at Rs 50, which serves a person. Additionally, the stall also has a large plate at Rs 100, which serves two to three people.
