How To Make Tasty Vallarai Spinach Salad At Home

Most of us hated spinach and other vegetables during our childhood until we saw Popeye. Only his oversized arms were capable of defeating the formidable Bluto (or Brutus), a bully. The secret to Popeye’s power was a can of spinach. It was undoubtedly a relief for our parents who had a hard time convincing us to eat vegetables such as spinach. Want to know how to make spinach salad? Below is an easy recipe for Vallarai Spinach salad.

Ingredients Needed:

Vallarai Spinach – 1 bowl

Duvaram dal – 3/4 cup

Garlic – 4 cloves (finely chopped)

Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Asparagus powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Chilli peppers – 4

Onion – 1 (finely chopped)

Tomato – 2 (finely chopped)

Tamarind – size of 1 lemon Oil – 2 tablespoons

Mustard – 1 teaspoon

Onion – 1 (finely chopped)

Garlic – 3 cloves (finely chopped)

Salt – to taste

Recipe:

1) First wash duvaram dal and add it to a cooking pot.

2) Then add garlic, turmeric powder, asparagus powder, green chillies, and chopped onion to a cooking pot.

3) After that, clean the vallar greens, wash them with water and add them to the cooking pot.

4) Then add enough water to the spinach, cover the pot and put it in the oven for 5 whistles.

5) When the whistle blows, open the pot, after some time add tamarind, put it in a vessel, add salt to taste and serve with meth.

6) Then put a pan in the oven, pour oil in it and heat it, add mustard and curry leaves and season.

7) Add onions and garlic and fry until they change colour.

8) After frying and stirring with the spinach, a delicious Vallaraik keera kadayal is ready.
