Olectra emerges lowest bidder for supply of 327 electric buses to HP government.
EV manufacturer Olectra Greentech, the listed entity that is part of the Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) group, has emerged as the lowest bidder for the supply of 327 electric buses to the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).

The company said it expects HRTC to finalise the order soon and award it to the company shortly.

HRTC, in the first phase of its e-bus deployment, had rolled out a e-bus service between Kullu Manali and Rohtang Pass in Sept 2017 wherein 25 buses supplied by Olectra were inducted into service, making it the first in the world to operate e-buses at an altitude of over 13,000 feet.

The e-buses are equipped with features such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), air suspension, and disc brakes with electronic stability control (ESC) with the 9m buses having the capability to ply a range of 180 km on a single charge at 80% state of charge. The 12m buses have a single charge range of 250 km at 80% SOC, Olectra said.
