Ashok Leyland commences delivery of advanced electric trucks to Billion Electric Mobility

Billion Electric Mobility has placed an order for 180 electric vehicles, which includes BOSS electric trucks and AVTR 55T Electric Tractors, from Ashok Leyland.
Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group and a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in the country, has commenced the delivery of electric trucks to Billion Electric Mobility, a member of Group BillionE.

The company has introduced three electric truck models: the AVTR 55T Electric, BOSS 19T Electric, and BOSS 14T Electric. The flag-off ceremony took place in the presence of Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO of Ashok Leyland, and Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of Billion E-Mobility & ChargeZone. Other notable attendees included Dr. N Saravanan, CTO, Sanjeev Kumar, President - M&HCV, Ganesh Mani, Chief Operating Officer from Ashok Leyland, Sanjeev Kulkarni, CTO of BillionE, Ravindra Mohan, COO of ChargeZone, and Mustafa Wajid, Board Member of BillionE.

Billion Electric Mobility has placed an order for 180 electric vehicles, which includes BOSS electric trucks and AVTR 55T Electric Tractors, from Ashok Leyland.

Shenu Agarwal expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “Ashok Leyland is proud of its partnership with BillionE Group as we commence deliveries of our AVTR 55T Electric Tractor and BOSS ICV Electric trucks. BOSS Electric is India’s first and only electric truck in the ICV range, and AVTR 55T Electric Tractor is the first 4x2 Tractor to be commercially offered by an Indian CV manufacturer. Ashok Leyland remains committed in pushing the boundaries of innovation to lead the shift to green mobility, offering cutting-edge technologies and outstanding customer experience.”

The new electric vehicles from Ashok Leyland are designed to offer advanced performance, safety, and efficiency. The battery packs are positioned at the frame level, ensuring compatibility with commonly used trailers and superstructures. These packs come with IP67 protection, safeguarding against water and dust ingress. The vehicles are also equipped with Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) to enhance safety.

Additional features include simultaneous dual-gun charging for faster recharging and the widely used Common Charging Standard 2 (CCS2).
