The Autonomous BAJA SAEINDIA 2024 (aBAJA) kicked off on October 4th, 2024, at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) in Pune. This 3-day event marks a milestone for the engineering competition by focusing on autonomous all-terrain vehicles. Five teams from different parts of India are participating, putting their vehicles through a series of challenges to test performance and team expertise in autonomous technology.

Readiness checks

Leading up to the competition, readiness checks were conducted from September 30th to October 3rd at ARAI, Kothrud, Pune. These checks included detailed technical inspections to ensure vehicles met required standards in electrical, mechanical, and autonomous systems. Additionally, teams underwent safety briefings, and their preparedness was assessed. Trial run tracks for events such as Object Detection, Classification, and Tracking (ODCT) and Remote Driving System (RDS) were set up, allowing teams to fine-tune their vehicles.
