According to officials, 58,000 people visited the trade show on the second day.
Siyaram Verma, assistant regional transport officer, said 13 dealers, including Tata Motors, Rohan Motors, Vipul Motors, Espirit Toyota, Koncept Mahindra, etc., put up stalls over 1500sqm.
Showcasing a Tata Motors Punch EV, Abhishek Tyagi, sales advisor at Sab Motors, said, “Electric vehicles are environment-friendly and cost nearly INR 1 per km. The EVs can run up to 320km after 5-6 hours of normal charging.”
He added that EVs produce no tailpipe emissions, helping to reduce pollution and combat climate change. They also help reduce harmful pollutants like nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, improving air quality.
Som Prakash Midha, director of Sundak Solar Solutions Pvt Ltd, said his Greater Noida-based company has been producing e-scooters for four years. “We have sold thousands of electric scooters ranging from INR 42,945 to INR 57,225. We are getting a good response from the visitors to the trade show.”
Some hybrid vehicles — that combine a traditional internal combustion engine and one or more electric motors powered by a battery — were on display in the show.
Visitors are actively seeking information about these EVs and hybrid vehicles. Rakesh Kumar, a visitor, said, “A rise in pollution level in Delhi-NCR necessitates the promotion of EVs in the area. It is good that they have placed these stalls. I am also planning to buy an electric vehicle.”
Of 10 lakh vehicles registered in Noida, there are 1,505 electric cars, 5,410 electric bikes, and 21,254 e-rickshaws. EVs account for 2.7% of the registered vehicles.
Another attraction at the show was a modified wooden bike crafted by Mohammed Junaid Saifi (25). The Bijnor resident redesigned a used Hero Passion Pro, replacing its body with pine wood.
“I bought a used bike and redesigned it two months ago. In 2021, I designed a wooden bicycle, and people liked it very much in my neighbourhood. I then decided to make a bike,” Saifi explained.
