Uno Minda Limited, a global tier-1 supplier of automotive systems, is set to expand its capacities by establishing new facilities in India and Indonesia to meet increasing demand. Uno Minda’s subsidiary PT Minda Asean Automotive will set up a new manufacturing facility in Indonesia by Q4 FY26, while plans in India include new plants in Haryana and Karnataka. These expansions will ensure the company continues to serve growing markets and meet the evolving needs of its customers.

In Indonesia, Uno Minda has secured new orders for long tail lamps for passenger cars from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). To cater to this demand, PT Minda Asean Automotive will build a new manufacturing facility expected to be operational by Q4 FY26. The existing plant, established in 2005, will be relocated to the new site. This move aims to consolidate operations and achieve economies of scale. The total capital expenditure for the new Indonesian plant is estimated at INR 210 crore.

The company has been a significant player in the Indonesian market since 2005. PT Minda Asean Automotive currently supplies components and systems to major two-wheeler OEMs in Indonesia. The new facility will enable Uno Minda to diversify its product offerings and cater to the growing demand for passenger car components.

New manufacturing plants in India to support future growth

In India, Uno Minda's subsidiary Uno Mindarika Private Ltd recently set up a new plant in Farrukhnagar, Gurugram, Haryana. In Phase 1, this new plant established manufacturing facilities for part products used in automotive switches.

The phased relocation will be completed by Q3 FY27, ensuring uninterrupted supply to customers and providing flexibility for future growth.

Additionally, their joint venture company, Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt Ltd, will set up a new plant in Harohalli, Karnataka. This new facility will manufacture safety systems, such as airbags and steering wheels, as well as interior and exterior products like console boxes, to meet increased demand.

The total capital expenditure for this new plant in Harohalli is estimated at INR 283 crore, with operations expected to commence in Q1 FY27, the company revealed in a media release.
