Mahindra & Mahindra launched the most anticipated, Thar Roxx recently in the Indian market. With the deliveries and bookings scheduled to open later, the brand has announced that the SUV's first unit to enter the producing series will be auctioned. In other words, the Thar Roxx with VIN '0001' will be under the hammer and the proceeds earned will go toward a good cause. The auction registrations will open today, September 12, 2024.

This is not the first time the brand is putting the first unit of its vehicle up for auction. Before this, the brand had auctioned the first unit of the Mahindra Thar in 2020. The lifestyle SUV at the time received a bid of INR 1.11 crore. It was acquired by Aakash Minda in its LX Petrol automatic variant. It is to be noted that the automaker had received over 5,5000 bids for the SUV across 500 locations in the country.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx will be sold at a starting price of INR 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom) which goes up to INR 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the version with rear-wheel-drive. The brand is yet to announce the prices of the four-wheel-drive versions of the SUV.

Designed as an off-road capable vehicle, the Mahindra Thar Roxx comes with butch looks with a high bonnet and big wheel arches. With an extra door compared to the Thar, the SUV has a bigger wheelbase and consequently more space to offer.

To set itself apart from the three-door version, the SUV comes with LED DRLs, a unique vertical slat grille, and more. All of this will be complemented by the presence of multiple paint scheme options including Everest White, Battleship Grey, Deep Forest Green, Stealth Black, Burnt Sienna, Nebula Blue, and Tango Red.

Powering the Mahindra Thar Roxx is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with the option of a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. These engines are paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission. The consumers can have the 4x4 powertrain only with the diesel engine variants of the SUV.
