This state govt initiative aims to promote electric mobility and raise awareness about road safety.
The transport department will set up an EV zone at the upcoming UP International Trade Show, which will be held in Greater Noida’s Expo Mart from Sept 21 to 25. A total of 11 dealers have agreed to participate and display their electric vehicles in the trade show sao far, officials said.

This state govt initiative aims to promote electric mobility and raise awareness about road safety.

Last year, the state govt had issued a notification for 100% tax exemption in registration of electric vehicles in the state last year, in an attempt to promote the use of these vehicles. In 2022, UP had also issued a new EV policy aimed to encourage faster adoption of electric vehicles in the state.

ARTO (administration) Siyaram Verma said that the EV zone will cover a 1,500 sqm area, with a portion dedicated to road safety, vehicle fitness, and motor driving schools. “Participants include Espirit Toyota, Uttam Toyota, Sab Motors, ASB Motors, Shiva Auto Car, Allied Motors, etc,” he added.

Discussions are ongoing with other dealers to secure their participation in the event. Manufacturers will exhibit a variety of electric vehicles, including cars, bikes, buses, and e-rickshaws.
