SIAM appoints Shailesh Chandra as its new president

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, has been elected as the new President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for the term 2024-25. The election was conducted during the Executive Committee Meeting of SIAM.

Chandra succeeds Vinod Aggarwal, the Managing Director and CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Ltd, who previously held the position of SIAM President. Prior to this new role, Chandra served as the Vice President of SIAM.

Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and CEO of Ashok Leyland Ltd., has been elected as the Vice President of SIAM for the same term, following the recent elections.

Satyakam Arya, CEO and Managing Director of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, has been named the Treasurer for the 2024-25 term.

Members of SIAM came together to vote and elect their new office bearers during the Executive Committee Meeting held today.
