The highly anticipated Kia EV9 electric SUV will be officially launched in the Indian market on October 3. The EV9, which was previously showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, has been generating significant buzz in the Indian market and has now appeared on the company's India website.

The EV9 GT-Line AWD variant, the top-of-the-line model, will be the initial offering. This electric SUV, known for its spacious interior and advanced features, is expected to be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The Kia Carnival, on the other hand, is likely to be assembled locally in India at a later stage.

The EV9 GT-Line AWD boasts impressive performance, with a dual-motor setup delivering 379 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. It offers an estimated range of approximately 434 kilometers on a single charge and can be rapidly charged using 350 kW DC fast charging.

In addition to its powerful electric drivetrain, the EV9 features a range of advanced technologies, including a Level-3 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. Safety features such as a 360-degree camera, blind spot detection, parking collision avoidance, lane driving aids, and navigation-based cruise control enhance the driving experience.

While pricing details for the Indian market have not been disclosed, the EV9 AWD GT-Line is listed at USD 73,900 in the United States, which translates to approximately INR 62.06 lakh. Given the CBU status, the Indian pricing is expected to be higher. Kia India has not indicated any plans for local assembly of the EV9 at this time.
