Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has launched the 350 Jawa 42 FJ, an exciting addition to their "42 Life" series, priced at INR 1,99,142. Celebrating superior design and riding experience, the new motorcycle aims to merge classic aesthetics with modern features, continuing the legacy initiated by earlier models like the 42 and 42 Bobber.

350 Jawa 42 FJ aims at a broad range of discerning riders by offering a balanced mix of design, price, and performance. It's more than just a motorcycle – it redefines the neo-classic category with modern features and classic design elements.

'Neo-Classic' segment

Inspired by Frantisek Janecek, the founder of Jawa, the 350 Jawa 42 FJ aims to deliver a bold riding experience catered to modern enthusiasts. Jawa seeks to push the boundaries of the 'Neo-Classic' segment in India by combining design, power, presence, and cutting-edge technology in the new 42 FJ.

"The 2024 Jawa 42 embodies our design-led approach to motorcycle engineering," says Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles. "We've taken our time with this bike, pushing the boundaries of the 'price-performance' matrix and achieved a great blend of edgy performance, gorgeous form, and precision engineering. As pioneers of Neo-Classics in India, the 42 FJ is a testament to our challenger spirit and disruptive approach."

The 350 Jawa 42 FJ is the latest model to join Jawa's Neo-Classic lineup, which also includes popular models like the 42 and 42 Bobber. It is expected to attract a devoted following quickly with its powerful engine and feature-packed offerings. The motorcycle is available in a range of premium colours with prices starting from INR 1,99,142.

Design

Designed to bridge the classic Jawa DNA with contemporary styling, the 350 Jawa 42 FJ is defined by its anodised, brushed aluminium fuel tank cladding. This segment-first feature not only enhances the bike’s appeal but also allows for personalisation through different colour options and Jawa branding choices. Complementing this are aluminium headlamp holders, grab handles, and footpegs, contributing to a cohesive design that honours Jawa's heritage.

Features

The 42 FJ’s iconic curves, distinctive silhouette, and off-set fuel cap pay homage to its rich legacy. A wide, flat seat with premium stitching ensures both comfort and style. Modern features include an upswept exhaust for the signature Jawa sound and an all-LED lighting package. A fully digital instrument cluster and a USB charging port add to its rider-focused elements, blending traditional aesthetics with current technology.

At the core of the 350 Jawa 42 FJ is the new 350 Alpha2 engine, delivering 29.2 PS and 29.6 Nm of torque. This engine promises unmatched acceleration, smart gear-based mapping, and features a slick six-speed gearbox with A&S clutch technology, making the 42 FJ a strong contender in the neo-classic segment.

The motorcycle is built on a double cradle frame for superior handling, paired with a 1440 mm wheelbase for enhanced highway stability. It offers a segment-leading 178 mm ground clearance suitable for varied terrains. For rider safety, it comes with dual-channel ABS and larger disc brakes, providing precise stopping power. Premium diamond-cut alloy wheels with tubeless tires further add to rider convenience.
