HMSI records 9% sales increase with 4.91 Lakh units in August

In August, HMSI undertook road safety awareness campaigns in 11 Indian cities.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced its robust performance in August 2024, achieving double-digit growth with overall sales of 538,852 units, registering a 13% year-on-year increase. The domestic sales reached 491,678 units, marking a 9% growth, while exports soared by 79% to 47,174 units.

From April to August 2024, HMSI's domestic sales totaled 2,345,028 units, with exports at 229,716 units. In another milestone, HMSI has surpassed the sale of 30 lakh units in Madhya Pradesh.

In August, HMSI undertook road safety awareness campaigns in 11 Indian cities: Udaipur, Jorhat, Thiruvananthapuram, Sagar, Nandurbar, Bathinda, Thiruvallur, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Ramgarh, and Aurangabad.

In July, the company saw dispatches of 483,100 units, which included 439,118 domestic sales and 43,982 exports, recording a 43% year-on-year growth.

“A rise in bike and scooter sales is an indication that rural spending is on the rise,” the company noted.

HMSI's product range features four scooter models: Activa and Dio in the 110cc segment, and Activa 125 and Dio 125 in the 125cc segment. The motorcycle category includes nine models: Shine 100, CD 110 Dream Deluxe, and Livo in the 100-110cc segment; Shine 125 and SP125 in the 125cc segment; Unicorn and SP160 in the 160cc segment; and Hornet 2.0 and CB200X in the 180-200cc segment, along with various special edition models.
