Mahindra Auto sales register 16% growth with 43,277 SUVs in August

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported a total of 76,755 vehicle sales in August 2024, including exports. The company observed a good growth in both the commercial vehicle and utility vehicle sales.

According to Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., "We sold a total of 43,277 SUVs in August, a growth of 16% and 76,755 total vehicles. India’s Independence Day holds a significant place for us at Mahindra and this year we celebrated the day with the launch of the much-awaited Thar ROXX – 'The' SUV."

Ultility vehicle sales

The company's domestic sales in the Utility Vehicles segment reached 43,277, marking a 16% growth. Overall, Mahindra sold 44,670 utility vehicles, including exports.

Commercial vehicle sales

Commercial Vehicles recorded 21,092 units sold domestically. Three wheeler sales were recorded at 9,326 units in August 2024 which were 32% higher than 7,044 units in August 2023.

He added, "With Thar ROXX, we're setting our sights on making the Thar franchise the No. 1 SUV franchise (>12.5 Lakh segment) by volume within the next 3 to 5 years."

The company highlighted the importance of India's Independence Day, using the occasion to launch the new Thar ROXX SUV. This vehicle aims to bolster its Thar franchise, targeting the highest volume in its segment over the coming years.
