New Delhi: Amplus Solar plans to come up with distributed green hydrogen projects by next year, Sharad Pungalia, chief executive officer and managing director, Amplus Solar, told ETEnergyWorld in an exclusive interaction.

“We have already started working on a distributed green hydrogen model. The idea is to continue with our rooftop story where we supply solar power to consumers by setting up solar projects at their premises… I plan to take the same business model to hydrogen as well,” he said.

At present, the company has a portfolio of over 1.9 GW of operational and under construction distributed solar assets in India.

He added that if a customer has a requirement for distributed green hydrogen then for those customers we plan to set up electrolysers within their premises.

“Any which way we are bringing green electricity for them so we would continue to do that and give them hydrogen within their premises itself… So, by next year or so we would have such projects coming up in our offerings,” he added.

He added that the company does not plan to enter manufacturing of electrolysers and instead plans to buy and then supply those technologies.

“We are project developers hence, we will not be manufacturing electrolysers just as we do not manufacture solar panels. We will be supplying these electrolysers to our customers from a third party,” said Pungalia.

A member of the Gentari Group, Malaysia, the Gurugram-headquartered company is a distributed energy company providing low-carbon energy solutions to industrial and commercial customers.
