Accenture’s initiative comes in response to a growing demand for skilled professionals in the automotive sector.
New Delhi: Accenture has launched a global Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Academy through its Accenture LearnVantage business. This initiative aims to provide specialized training modules for enterprises within the automotive industry seeking to build skills for software-defined, service-driven digital mobility, projected to become a USD 3.5 trillion market by 2040.

The SDV Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum with over 40 modules, providing hands-on learning through an interactive sandbox environment and expert coaching in key SDV domains. Industry standards like AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) and Functional Safety are part of the training, ensuring participants gain practical skills and knowledge. AI-enabled, hyper-personalized learning paths further enhance the tailored learning experience.

Accenture’s initiative comes in response to a growing demand for skilled professionals in the automotive sector. According to a 2024 study by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the Indian automotive industry will require up to 2 lakh skilled individuals by 2030 to align with the government's goal of 30% electric vehicle adoption.

Kishore Durg, global lead of Accenture LearnVantage, highlighted India's potential in the global automotive market due to its increasing interest in electric vehicles and connected cars. He emphasized the need for Indian automakers to revamp their R&D and manufacturing processes while continuously upgrading their workforce's skills.

“As the third largest car market in the world, India is uniquely positioned to become a global automotive hub, thanks to its rapidly growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs) and connected cars, along with strong export momentum. Today, vehicles are viewed the same way as smartphones - the ultimate connected devices, and consumer preferences are evolving quickly. Indian automakers must reinvent their R&D and manufacturing processes, and continuously equip their people with emerging, specialized technological skills. Our SDV Academy is here to help them take charge of their skilling journeys, and stay ahead in a rapidly developing, and competitive talent environment,” Durg stated.

The SDV Academy, developed by industrial automation experts at Accenture and ecosystem partners, leverages Accenture’s extensive expertise in the auto industry. It promises to play a crucial role in equipping the Indian automotive sector with the skills needed to succeed in the evolving landscape of digital mobility.

Features of the SDV Academy include:

Instructor-Led Training: An eight-week instructor-led, fully immersive training program with both online and offline learning experiences. It includes hands-on assignments on the tech stack, ensuring participants gain practical experience.

Modular Program Structure: 40+ immersive modules that cover the complete SDV landscape, from hardware to software, including chip-to-cloud layers to develop digital fluency across key vehicle domains such as Infotainment, automated driving technologies and advanced driver assistance systems (AD/ADAS), connectivity, and electrical / electronic (E/E) architecture.

Applied Learning: Two intuitive and practical tech-stack research projects with a robust evaluation framework and defined qualification criteria, ensuring participants apply what they learn and are job-ready upon completion.

State-of-the-art Labs: Access to state-of-the-art labs and infrastructure, bringing scenario-based and enhanced learner experiences to life.

Industry-Relevant Curriculum: Emphasis on automotive-specific frameworks, standards, and compliances, including AUTOSAR, Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination (ASPICE), Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity.
