New Delhi: BluSmart, the born electric, full-stack, vertically integrated electric mobility ride-hailing service and EV Charging Infrastructure network, is awarded a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The patent, titled “Systems and Methods for Allocating Vehicles to Ride Requests’, was officially granted on August 6, 2024.

The innovative system takes a full-stack approach to ride-matching at scale, optimally guiding driver partners from initiating the ride to picking up the customer, and seamlessly navigating to the nearest EV charging station when needed. This creates an ecosystem of connected EVs and connected chargers.

BluSmart’s proprietary technology includes a predictive analytics model capable of forecasting real-time demand for its EV ride-hailing service. This model provides critical insights into peak demand periods, ensuring that driver partners are strategically positioned to meet demand efficiently. At the same time BluSmart solves range anxiety for EVs by optimally matching rides based on the current charge in the EV and location and availability of charging stations, built on a backbone of smart cars and smart chargers.

As a result, BluSmart driver partners arrive on time or early for 97% of trips. This allows the company to drive greater adoption of its EV ride-hailing service in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Dubai, and significantly contribute to carbon emission reduction and sustainable transportation in India.

Rishabh Sood, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, BluSmart , said, “The patent granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a significant milestone for BluSmart, highlighting our technological prowess and innovation led approach in the EV ride hailing industry. This technology allows us to optimize utilization of our fleet and charging infra. This patent is a validation of our commitment to drive innovation and enhance the customer experience by ensuring optimal allocation of EVs, timely pick-ups and efficient service.”

The in-house developed tech stack of BluSmart ensures reduced wait times, fair pricing, and a reliable service with 100% uptime, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable urban transportation.
