It differs from its ICE counterparts with a closed-off grille, a nose-mounted charging port, and unique alloy wheel designs.

Tata Motors launched the new Curvv.ev today, in the Indian market. The electric model is priced between INR 17.49 lakh and INR 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with the ICE version set to launch on September 2nd. The Curvv.ev offers two battery options and promises impressive ranges, while the ICE variant comes with three engine choices. Both versions prioritise design, customisation, and advanced features to appeal to a wide audience.

The Curvv.ev comes with two battery pack configurations: the Curvv.ev 45, featuring a 40.5kWh battery pack for the base and mid-tier variants, and the Curvv.ev 55 includes a 55kWh battery pack for the mid- and higher-end models. The 40.5kWh variant promises a MIDC-rated range of 502 kilometers, while the 55kWh model boasts a range of 585 kilometers on a single charge. Under the C75 testing standard, the 55kWh model achieves a range between 400 and 425 kilometers, and the 40.5kWh variant falls between 330 and 350 kilometers.

The ICE Curvv will feature three engine options: the newly unveiled 1.2-litre Turbo GDI engine, producing 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque, alongside the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. All engines will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options.

In terms of design, the Curvv.ev stands out with its high-raised stance and sloping roofline, offering a fresh visual appeal. It differs from its ICE counterparts with a closed-off grille, a nose-mounted charging port, and different alloy wheel designs. Tata Motors offers more than 60 accessories for further personalization of the vehicle's exterior and interior.

The electric Curvv.ev is powered by a 167bhp electric motor driving the front wheels, enabling a 0-100 kph sprint in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 160 kmph. It supports rapid charging, with Tata claiming that "a 150-kilometer range can be added in just 15 minutes using a 70 kW charger," and a full charge from 10% to 80% can be completed within 40 minutes. The Curvv.ev also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.

On the practical side, the Curvv.ev offers a 50:50 weight distribution, 190mm ground clearance, and a wading depth of 450mm.

Inside, the Curvv.ev shares a similar layout with its petrol-powered version but stands out with a white and grey color scheme. Key interior features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a touch-based climate control panel, a four-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters for regenerative modes, and a rotary drive selector. The top-tier variant also includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a comprehensive suite of amenities such as leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a 9-speaker premium JBL sound system.

Safety remains a priority, with the Curvv.ev equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, driver drowsiness alert, blind-spot monitoring, and advanced driver assistance systems (L2 ADAS with 20+ features). Additionally, it features an audible alert for pedestrians at speeds below 20 kph.

Tata Motors' launch of the Curvv.ev, with its blend of aesthetics, technological advancements, and practical features, marks a significant step in their commitment to innovation in the Indian automotive market.
