Honda Cars India reported a 5% decrease in domestic wholesales, with 4,804 units dispatched to dealers in June. This is down from 5,080 units in the same month last year, according to a statement from Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL). However, the company saw a significant increase in exports, with 4,972 units shipped last month compared to 2,112 units in June 2022.

Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Honda Cars India, acknowledged the challenging market conditions that have impacted domestic demand. Despite this, he highlighted the company's strong performance in the export market, noting a significant growth in that segment.

"The market conditions have been challenging to create fresh demand," Behl said. "On the exports front, the company continued to grow, marking a significant leap for the company."

Honda's focus on expanding its export business has proven successful, providing a bright spot amid the domestic market challenges. The company's ability to adapt to changing market dynamics and capitalize on export opportunities has helped offset some of the challenges faced in the domestic market.
