Maruti Suzuki domestic sales increases 3% to 1,37,160 units in June

Compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, saw a slight decline, with sales standing at 64,049 units, down from 64,471 units a year ago.
New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India reported a 12% increase in total wholesales to 1,79,228 units in June compared to 1,59,418 units in the same month last year. This growth was primarily driven by a 3% rise in domestic passenger vehicle sales, which reached 1,37,160 units, up from 1,33,027 units in June of the previous year.

However, sales of mini-segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, fell to 9,395 units from 14,054 units in June 2023. Compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, saw a slight decline, with sales standing at 64,049 units, down from 64,471 units a year ago.

The utility vehicles segment, which includes Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, and XL6, experienced significant growth, recording sales of 52,373 units last month compared to 43,404 units in the same period last year. Additionally, sales of Eeco rose to 10,771 units from 9,354 units in June last year.

Light commercial vehicle sales for the Super Carry stood at 2,758 units, a decrease from 2,992 units in the year-ago period. The company’s exports also saw a substantial increase, with 31,033 units exported last month, compared to 19,770 units in June of the previous year.
