A Nebraska substitute teacher was caught naked inside a car with a teen student who tried to flee the scene but crashed the car and then ran away from the spot in his underwear when police approached, authorities told The New York Post.

Ward was detained by the police over the weekend after she was found with the teenager from Omaha high school where she taught, Douglas County Sheriff’s department told the newspaper.

Ward, who is married, was caught by the police after they received a call about a suspicious car parked down a dead end around 3am (local time). The police said they found two people in the backseat.

Startled by the police, the teen scrambled to the front seat and started driving but he drove two blocks only and wrecked the car and then fled on foot. Ward remained at the scene, sat in the back of the car, dressing herself. She allegedly confessed to having sex with the boy.

The police said Ward carried an ID from Omaha Public Schools and said she substituted at various schools including Burke High School. It was later found that the boy she was having sex with is from Burke High School.

The boy was found later that night hiding in a yard dressed only in his underwear and t-shirt. The car they were having intercourse in belonged to Erin Ward’s spouse. She was charged with felony sexual abuse by a school employee.

Another teacher was recently charged by police in the US for having sex with their student. Jessica Sawicki, 37, who taught English at Hamilton High School West, was held for having a sexual relationship with her student.

She was charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and was caught having sex with the student at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area by New Jersey authorities.

The teacher had unprotected sex at least five times in the 6,393-acre state-owned wildlife management area since December, The New York Post said in a separate report.
