Apple is going to keep you waiting for the next AirTag version a little longer. The company is working on the upgraded version which is likely to be introduced mid-2025. The report from Bloomberg this week says the new AirTag is already going through test runs with Apple’s manufacturing partners in Asia but the final steps to offer the market-ready product will likely happen later this year, before the official debut sometime in 2025.

AirTag 2 Launch In 2025: What Will It Offer

The rumoured AirTag 2 from Apple will be its first major overhaul since the first one came out back in 2021. The device has helped you track items by attaching to keys, wallet or even iPhone. AirTags have become stalker’s favourite gadget over the years which has forced both Apple and Google to team up and offer a better way to help tracking third-party devices of this nature.

Coming back to the AirTag 2, Apple is likely to give it a new design and look which should make it easier to carry. The new chip under the hood should improve its tracking ability which is paramount for a device meant for this purpose.

It will most likely help you with accurate location of the gadgets you want to track and do it quickly as well. The recent iOS 17.5 update also gives us possible hints about the third-party nature of the next AirTag which will make it extremely useful for the non-iPhone users as well. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also pointed out last year that the AirTag 2 could also be compatible with the Vision Pro headset to be part of the spatial ecosystem for the company.

Apple sells AirTag in a single pack for Rs 3,499 and a four-pack for Rs 11,900. Moreover, you can also avail free engraving if you buy directly from Apple’s website in India.

If you are planning to buy an AirTag, please note that you will need an Apple iPhone or iPad to set it up. But later you can track it using an Android device.
