Paytm faced a lot of issues when it was ordered by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to stop its Payments Bank in the country. The platform was also forced to shut down its Fastag services which became a nightmare for many.

However, Paytm was finally offered the licence to operate as a third-party aggregator, something that Google Pay and WhatsApp Pay offer in India. Paytm users were then told that their existing @paytm UPI ID will not be available and they will have to switch to new IDs when the migration takes place.

So, if you have been waiting for the change to happen or for some reason missed out on the auto-migration on Paytm, you can now do it manually in the app and it doesn’t take a lot of time. We managed to find multiple UPI IDs that are available and you can activate them by following the steps we are going to talk about below.

How To Change UPI IDs On Paytm

Paytm was given the option to switch its UPI ID after it was given the sanction to operate through banks like SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and more.

– Open Paytm on your phone

– Tap on your profile account on Paytm

– Scroll down and click on UPI and Payment Settings

– You will see UPI ID for your account at the top of the screen

– Click on the Edit button to see different UPI IDs available for your account

– You will see the primary UPI ID at the top, this ID is visible to the people you pay

– Below that you will see Other UPI IDs

– Click on Activate to use the available UPI IDs from different banks

– The UPI ID will be authenticated using SMS verification via your registered mobile number

– Now, you can use the new UPI ID to make payments on Paytm

Paytm was facing a tough situation when it was told to stop its payment services, including the wallet. But the platform managed to keep the operations running without major downtime and switching to new UPI IDs will allow the existing Paytm users to rely on the platform as it was before.
