After WhatsApp, Instagram To Introduce 'Early Access Program' For Users: What It Means

WhatsApp rolled out its 'Beta Testers Program many years back. Users who have been a part of this tester program have enjoyed early access to new features for years. They get the opportunity to try these new features of the application before anyone else, and they even share their reviews.

Now, it seems Instagram is all set to launch its 'Early Access to Features' option, which will mirror WhatsApp's Beta Testers Program. Currently, Instagram enthusiasts who are eager to review new features of Instagram before anyone else can only do so through the Android Beta program. This option will allow them to explore the new additions related to Instagram.

As per mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram's new early access feature is expected to be available in the settings menu. Even though there has not been much detail revealed, it is expected that the new feature will work similarly to that of WhatsApp's Testers Program.

Usually, WhatsApp rolls out new features through this program to selected users. This allows them to get first-hand feedback on the features and allows them to remove any issues before the official release of the features. Apart from getting early access to the platform's new features, those who take part in the testing can also request additional functionalities.

In addition to the Early Access Program, Instagram is expected to launch a new feature that will use AI to create new chat themes. As of now, the social media platform still offers themes with colour gradients and pre-designed options. However, Instagram is constantly aiming to introduce an AI-based chat theme option that is customisable as per the user's preference.

Apart from that, Instagram has also launched a new feature called 'Reveal', which will allow users to post a hidden story that can be opened by their followers by sending a DM. They have also introduced an 'Add Your Music' sticker in stories. This will allow the users to choose a song that matches their mood. This feature will also allow their followers to add their music using the sticker.

As Meta is heavily focused on AI, they are also planning to introduce an AI chat assistant that will help users by answering queries on various topics.
