The Monaco GP was off to a disastrous start as the red flag was called right as the race started. The commentators described it as a ‘monster of an accident’, which saw the likes of Kevin Magnussen and Niko Hulkenberg being taken out of commission following the crash.

Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc who started at pole, maintained his lead through the start but Haas’ Magnussen was seen clipping Red Bull’s Perez which led to a catastrophic crash with the Red Bull car losing out on some wheels and a bit of the body as well.

Following the halt, Redbull’s Verstappen was seen reacting to the footage and also seemed to be in shock at the crash. As a result of the crash, the other Haas driver, Hulkenberg was also taken out resulting in a disastrous start for the team and the driver was also seemingly angry with how the race started out.

With the ground officials clearing out the track, Ferrari’s Sainz was given the third spot in the standing start.

Some of the drivers took advantage of the 40-minute long break and switched their tyres as well. The crash also result in Esteban Ocon crashing out as well which was not ideal for the Alpine side.

While the drama unfolded in the very first lap, the rest of the race ended up being a very dull affair with Leclerc leading the pack followed by McLaren’s Oscar Piastri at second. Sainz took the third spot while his former teammate Lando Norris took fourth followed by George Russell at fifth and Verstappen at sixth.

The top six hardly exchanged positions as there was a significant gap between each other which resulted in the race being a highly dull affair.
