Ronaldo and Szczesny claimed four trophies together at Juventus before the Portuguese legend decided to return to Premier League side Manchester United in 2021. Ronaldo is currently representing Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Nassr already have a strong squad, featuring big names like ex-Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte, former Liverpool star Sadio Mane and Manchester United’s former full-back Alex Telles. A successful signing of Szczesny will certainly be a positive move for Al-Nassr in a bid to win the Saudi Pro League title next season.

Ronaldo himself has already spoken about the quality of the Saudi Pro League and the Real Madrid and Manchester United legend even claimed that the competition is “much better” than the Major League Soccer (MLS).

“The Saudi league is much better than the United States. My decision to go to Saudi was 100 per cent crucial for clubs to bring in new top players. It’s a fact. It was going to take a year, but it was six months. I was wrong for six months,” Ronaldo had told reporters, as per Mirror.

“But I knew this was going to happen because in the Italian league, when I went there, it was also dead and then rejuvenated. Where Cristiano goes, it generates greater interest and I knew it was going to be like that. I’m sure that next season more stars will go there [to Saudi Arabia],” he added.

Having represented Al-Nassr in 70 games, Ronaldo has found the back of the net 64 times. Ronaldo earned the Saudi Pro League Player of the Month award for February 2023 having registered eight goals and two assists. Al-Nassr lifted the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023 thanks to Ronaldo’s brace in the final against Al-Hilal.
