Everyone’s weight loss journey is different. It takes months of effort and dedication to lose the desired amount of weight. Vigorous exercise and a healthy diet plan are essential. This process can be especially challenging for women with PCOS. However, with the right diet and exercise tips, weight loss is possible. Richa Mehrotra is a shining example of this.

Richa’s Weight Loss Story

Richa Mehrotra shared her journey with India.com. She has lost an impressive 14 kg in two years.

Reason Behind Her Weight Loss

Richa experienced sudden weight gain due to PCOS, which affected her physical and mental health. She felt her life was moving slowly and believed that reducing her weight to a healthy number was crucial for her well-being.

Diet and Routine

In 2021, Richa followed a balanced diet recommended by her nutritionist for six months. This diet included fruits, vegetables, grains, and protein. She made significant changes to her eating habits. She eliminated sugary drinks, maida, processed and fried foods.

Richa loved eating fruits and included them in her daily diet. Along with this diet, yoga and brisk walking helped her overcome the initial challenges of shedding extra kilos.

Joining TDF – Dance to Fitness

After losing 10 kg, Richa’s weight stagnated. In May 2023, she joined TDF – Dance to Fitness, founded by nutritionist Sonia Bakshi. With the diet plan and HIIT workout routines by TDF fitness trainer Namrata Aggarwal, Richa lost another 3 kg and 6 inches overall. Her body got in shape with significant improvement in strength and endurance. This journey also boosted her mental health and confidence.

Sugar and Diet

Richa has not completely cut out sugar. She occasionally enjoys ice creams or cupcakes. She also eats fruits and jaggery, which contain natural sugars.

Eating Out

Richa enjoys a meal with friends or family once or twice on weekends. She eats dessert, pasta, or food from street Indian food stalls.

Richa concluded by saying that instead of eating less to lose weight, one should choose the right food to stay fit. Her journey is a testament to the fact that with the right approach, even those with PCOS can achieve their weight loss goals.
