The custom-made Loewe gown and Ambika seemed to be a match made in heaven- everything just tied up so well together! The white silk gown was a spectacle in itself and looked stunning on the actress. Even though the gown is all things simple and elegant it must be noted that it employs the Spanish house’s trademark trompe-l’œil technique: if one looks at it well, it will not be difficult to notice a mesmerizing 3D digital print of another dress, the 1951 “Petal” ball gown by the influential mid-century designer Charles James.

The gown also featured a petal-shaped waist detail and a petticoat reminiscent of a blooming flower. From the fit to the flair, everything was on point and complimented Ambika’s statuesque figure and went on to create a gorgeous silhouette. Styled by Farrah O’Connor, Ambika fit the theme of Met Gala 2024 which was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.’

She further accessorised the already beautiful look with a pair of statement diamond danglers and two chunky finger-rings. It is lovely how she did not over-accessorise the simple gown look and stuck to basics and made sure to give a striking note-worthy look to remember.

In terms of makeup, popular makeup artist Vincent Oquendo gave her “thorn-inspired lashes” which was yet again a nod to the theme of the event. The glittery eye-shadow and the structured brows were simply a vibe and went very well with the nude lip shade that she had opted for. Of course, the sleek hairdo needs a special mention of its own and how it just matched the energy of the ensemble.
