Zendaya Reawakens The Met Gala 2024 Carpet In Two Dramatic Styles; Take A Look

It is the year of Zendaya and she has definitely made a mark with her impeccable style quotient. On May 6, as co-chair of the biggest night of fashion, Met Gala 2024, Zendaya graced the carpet in not one but two exquisite haute couture ensembles.

Celebrating the Metropolis Costume Institute’s new exhibition theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion and the official dress code The Garden of Time, Zenday grace the carpet in haute couture pieces created for her by John Galliano for Maison Margiela, Givenchy and Alexander McQueen floral headpiece.

Styled by celebrity fashion stylist Law Roach, Zendaya looked ethereal in the ensembles. The first look that took everyone’s breath away was the siren dress.

Making a dramatic entrance in the siren dress created for her by John Galliano for Maison Margiela. According to the brand, the haute couture silhouette was inspired by the 1930s mythological works of photographer Madame Yevonde and imbued with the memory of the orgiastic sceneries of the bacchanals of ancient Greece. The siren dress overlaid with iridescent electric blue organza with retrograding in undulating bands of hand-painted metallic crin, swathes in aluminium material and iridescent organza drape and bow, with a corsage hand embroidered in a bacchanal of hand-painted impasto in the grammar of the electric blues and emerald greens of scarab amulets, with formations of birds, flowers, vines, grapes and nuts, worn over a boudoir coloured duchess satin corset.

Zenday paired the couture silhouette with a silver metal wire reverse swatching hat and a black hand-painted voile crafted in the memory of plume.

For her second look, Zendaya opted for Givenchy haute couture from the spring 1996 collection and an extraordinary Alexander McQueen floral headpiece. Like a living work of art, Zendaya’s look not only channelled royalty but also gave the Met Gala carpet an iconic close.

The Met Gala 2024 carpet was graced by array of celebrities from the film, music and fashion industry including Alia Bhatt, Zendaya, Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, Lana Del Rey, Ariana Grande, Mindy Kaling, Gigi Hadid, Natasha Poonawalla, Elle Fanning, Amanda Seyfried, Kendall Jenner, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Demi Moore, Lily James, Janelle Monae, Lewis Hamilton, Camila Mendes, Nicki Minaj, Sydney Sweeney, Camila Cabello, Sabrina Carpenter, Taraji P Henson to name a few.
