The 2024 Met Gala is almost here. This year, a number of A-listers from arts, business and entertainment will show up in outfits based on the theme: Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. In anticipation of a fashion-filled Monday, here is a look back at last year’s Met Gala viral moments. Last year’s theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, as a tribute to the late legendary designer. Doja Cat wore a cat-like prosthetic nose with a bedazzled Oscar de la Renta gown with a cat-ear hood in tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s 11-year-old Birman cat, Choupette.

Jeremy Pope wore a 30-foot-long cape made of silk chiffon with a printed image of Karl Lagerfeld’s face. The outfit was designed by Olivier Rousteing of Balmain.
Pedro Pascal made his Met Gala debut in a Valentino look consisting of a red overcoat over black shorts and lace-up boots.
Pop star Bad Bunny turned heads with a backless white Jacquemus tweed suit. He ditched his usual cornrows and opted for slicked-back hair. For accessories, he wore a simple pair of pearl earrings.
Janelle Monae wore a transformational Thom Browne ensemble that included a black-and-white jacket which first covered her whole look. Later on the red carpet, Monae removed her jacket and revealed a sheer pannier dress paired with a black two-piece.
Lil Nas X showed up in silver metallic body paint, a silver tong and a bejewelled eye mask. His whole body was embedded with Swarovski crystals and pearls. He completed the look with super high platform boots.
