Bank holidays can cause delays in processing transactions like deposits, transfers, and checks. Knowing about a holiday beforehand allows you to plan. While online banking offers some flexibility, some things still require a visit to a physical branch. Knowing bank holiday closures helps you avoid wasted trips and ensures you can conduct your business on a different day.

Is every Saturday a bank holiday in India?

As per the directives of the Reserve Bank of India, banks in India remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, along with all Sundays, except for National and state-specific holidays.

Banks across various states will remain closed for a total of 14 days in April. • ATM Services: ATMs typically operate throughout the week, including weekends and holidays. You can withdraw cash or check your account balance using your debit card.
  • Branch Hours: Even on weekdays, banks might have shorter operating hours on Saturdays. It’s recommended to check with your specific branch for their weekend timings. You can find this information on the bank’s website or mobile app.
