Deliveries of the New LWB E 220d and E 450 4MATIC models are set to begin soon. The E 220d will start its deliveries from Diwali, with an introductory price of INR 81.5 lakhs. For the E 450 4MATIC, priced at INR 92.5 lakhs, deliveries will commence in November.
The E 220d is being introduced at a price of INR 81.5 lakhs and its deliveries will coincide with the Diwali festival celebrations. This marks an important timeline for customers eagerly awaiting their new vehicles.
Meanwhile, the New LWB E 450 4MATIC comes with an introductory price tag of INR 92.5 lakhs. Deliveries for this model will begin in November, but currently, the company is collecting “Expression of Interest” from potential buyers through its Franchise Partners.

A blend of luxury with advanced technology
The new LWB E-Class upholds its legacy as the 'longest running production car' in India, with local production starting in 1995. This model remains the most successful luxury saloon in the country, with over 57,000 units on Indian roads. The 6th generation E-Class combines advanced digital innovations with traditional attributes of luxury, comfort, and safety, making it the most sophisticated and technologically advanced version to date.
"Being the only RHD market manufacturing the LWB E-Class globally, we have made multiple ‘India Specific’ enhancements to the ‘Made in India’ E-Class, making the luxury sedan more suited to Indian conditions and customer requirements. Key enhancements include the MBUX Superscreen, which offers an expansive digital interface for an immersive tech experience. Innovations like the Thermotronic Digital Vent Control ensure personalised and automatic climate adjustments. AI-driven routines personalise the driving experience, while the sleek design, advanced onboard technology, and focus on personalisation set new standards in the luxury executive sedan segment.
Safety features are robust, with an intelligently designed body featuring a rigid passenger cell and specifically deformable crash structures. The New LWB E-Class includes eight airbags, including a ‘front center airbag,’ and numerous restraint systems and safety features, enhancing overall safety.
Customisation for India
Mercedes-Benz India has introduced several 'India-specific' adaptations to meet local road conditions. These include an Enhanced Agility Control Suspension, locally sourced components for glasses, and a spare wheel placed below the boot floor. The vehicle also underwent crash and emission tests in Germany and Spain to comply with internal Mercedes-Benz quality standards.
Key specifications for the different variants of the New LWB E-Class are as follows:
For the E200: It has a total displacement of 1999 cc, rated output of 150/204 kW/hp at 5800 rpm, additional power boost of 17/23 kW/hp, and rated torque of 320 Nm at an engine speed range of 1600-4000 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 240 km/h.
For the E220d: The displacement is 1993 cc, with a rated output of 145/197 kW/hp at 3600 rpm. It offers an additional power boost of 17/23 kW/hp and rated torque of 440 Nm at 1800-2800 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of 238 km/h.
For the E450: It features a displacement of 2999 cc, a rated output of 280/381 kW/hp at 5800 rpm, an additional power boost of 17/23 kW/hp, and a rated torque of 500 Nm at 1800-5000 rpm. It achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
Design and advanced technology
The radiator grille with the star pattern surface and the black panel-like surface connecting the grille with the headlamps give the car a distinctive look. The MBUX Superscreen with a large glass surface extends to the central display, while the high-resolution instrument cluster display is positioned in the driver’s field of vision, making the digital interface user-friendly.
The new electronic architecture is more software-driven, with computing functions of previously separate domains now taking place in a single processor. Screens and the MBUX infotainment system share a new, powerful central onboard computer, enhancing performance and data stream speed.
The new selfie and video camera (part of the optional MBUX Superscreen) offers innovative features such as the ability to make video calls using the onboard Vivaldi browser.
Mercedes-Benz is using artificial intelligence to enable the car to learn which comfort systems the occupants use repeatedly. These systems, referred to as 'routines,' can be automated for repeated use, with templates available at launch and the option for customers to create their own routines.
The intelligent passenger screen allows the front passenger to watch dynamic content like TV or video streaming during a journey while keeping the driver safe from distraction.
The enhanced suspension is specially tuned for rear seat passengers and Indian driving conditions. The Agility Control steel spring suspension with selective damping system provides balanced ride comfort and high driving stability. The passive damping system ensures a superior driving experience on any road surface by continuously adapting rolling behavior, cushioning, and stabilisation to the current surface conditions.
Numerous components of the New E-Class are made from resource-saving materials, including certified recycled raw materials used in the seat foam according to the "mass balance approach," matching the quality of raw materials produced from crude oil.
