BMW launches all-new CE 02 at INR 4.50 lakh

The standard 0.9 kW external charger allows quick charging at standard household sockets. For even faster charging, the 1.5 kW quick charger available in the HIGHLINE package can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in 102 minutes.

BMW Motorrad India has launched the all-new BMW CE 02 at an introductory ex-showroom price of INR 4,49,900. Developed in Munich, Germany by BMW Motorrad and to be produced in Hosur, India through cooperation with TVS Motor Company, the CE 02 aims to redefine urban mobility with its trend-setting design, innovative solutions, and eco-friendly electric drive.

Specifications

The BMW CE 02 is nimble, practical, and robust, featuring a minimalist design that emphasises freedom and light-heartedness. The seat design reflects the simplicity of a skateboard. The disc wheels highlight its proportions, and LED technology is used for lights and indicators. The base model comes in Cosmic Black with granite grey metallic matt for the motor cover. This minimalistic design allows for personalisation.

Weighing 142 kg and with a seat height of 745 mm, the CE 02 offers easy handling suitable for city rides. It features a torsionally rigid double-loop frame made of tubular steel, with hydraulically damped telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided swingarm with a directly pivoted shock absorber at the rear. The CE 02 rides on cast light aluminum wheels with wide tyres in a disc wheel design. BMW Motorrad ABS is featured at the front.

For those looking for extra style and features, the special HIGHLINE package offers additional customisation. This includes gold anodized forks, tape designs, and features like a Bluetooth interface, SP Connect smartphone holder, Additional Flash riding mode, 1.5 kW quick charger, and heated grips.

Performance

The BMW CE 02 is powered by a current excited synchronous motor and uses two air-cooled lithium-ion batteries with an operating voltage of 48 V and a total energy content of 3.9 kWh. It has a maximum power output of 11 kW, providing a dynamic riding experience. The CE 02 can reach a top speed of 95 km/h and has a range of 108 km (according to ICAT). It generates a torque of 55 Nm, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 3 seconds.

Features

The CE 02 features two riding modes as standard: "Flow" for optimal urban cruising and "Surf" for a more dynamic ride. The HIGHLINE package adds a third mode, "Flash," for a sporty and dynamic experience.

The CE 02 features a 3.5” micro TFT display that provides information on riding speed, battery charge status, and other essential data. A USB-C charging socket allows for powering a smartphone. The BMW Motorrad Connected app can display the predicted end of charging time when connected via Bluetooth.

In the HIGHLINE variant, cradle mode allows the BMW Motorrad app on the smartphone to be controlled as an additional display using the handlebar keypad. An electric reverse gear helps with maneuvering in tight spaces, and Keyless Ride allows for easy starting and stopping.

The CE 02 offers various safety features, including the BMW Motorrad Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) on the front wheel. Additionally, it includes Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and Recuperation Stability Control (RSC) to reduce drag torque in overrun mode, ensuring vehicle stability.

The CE 02 also offers various optional equipment and original BMW Motorrad accessories for further personalisation.
