Bescom introduced an upgraded EV Mitra app.
Bengaluru: Bescom has rolled out a newly revamped interface for its EV Mitra app, aimed at providing an enhanced and more user-friendly experience for electric vehicle (EV) users. Available on both Android and iOS devices, the app now supports 11 languages, including Kannada, Hindi and English, making it more accessible to users across Karnataka.

The upgraded app provides detailed information on EV-charging stations, including their locations, availability and amenities. “With secure access features such as OTP or RFID-based authentication, users can safely log into the app. Users can also reserve charging stations in advance and view their booking history,” said a senior Bescom official.

The app supports UPI payments via Google Pay and PhonePe, as well as bill desk transactions. “To begin using the new EV Mitra app, users must first uninstall the older version. Any wallet balance from the old app will automatically be transferred to the new version,” he added. In case of any technical difficulties that interrupt the charging process, users are assured a refund for the amount paid. To further streamline user experience, Bescom has launched a WhatsApp support bot. This feature allows users to initiate charging and complete payments directly through WhatsApp.

Energy minister KJ George said the app, with its multilingual interface, reflects the govt’s commitment to making green travel convenient and affordable. Mahantesh Bilagi, MD of Bescom, said as the nodal agency for developing EV-charging infrastructure in Karnataka, it is committed to improving user experience.
