Daytona 660
Triumph has launched a new middleweight sports bike for 2024, the Daytona 660, powered by a unique triple engine at INR 9,72,450, ex-showroom. This motorcycle is designed to deliver thrilling sports performance, a dynamic ride, and a high level of quality and capability, setting new standards in its class.

The Daytona 660 is set to redefine the standards in the middleweight sports bike category, offering a blend of performance, technology, and customisation options tailored to modern riders' needs.

Features

The Daytona 660’s engine provides a blend of low-end torque and high-rpm power, making it both exciting and versatile. It produces 95PS at 11,250rpm, with a 12,650rpm redline, and delivers over 80% of its 69Nm peak torque from as low as 3,125rpm. The new exhaust system, featuring 3-into-1 headers and a compact underslung silencer, adds a distinctive triple-engine soundtrack.

The engine's power is managed through a six-speed gearbox, complemented by Triumph’s Torque Assist clutch. This clutch design ensures a light lever action and better reach, improving rear wheel control during hard deceleration for smooth corner entry. Riders can also choose Triumph’s Shift Assist as an additional feature for seamless, clutch-less up and down shifting, easing the riding experience in town.

The advanced technology integrated into the Daytona 660 enhances both safety and the riding experience. The ride-by-wire throttle system allows for three different riding modes: Sport, Road, and Rain. Each mode adjusts throttle response and traction control, with Sport mode offering the most reactive performance for road or track use. Riders can turn off the traction control via the instrument menu if they prefer.

For rider comfort, the Daytona 660 features clip-on bars positioned above the top yoke and foot pegs optimised for both comfort and cornering clearance. This natural riding position is designed to offer feedback for dynamic sports riding while remaining comfortable for long rides. At lower speeds, the carefully balanced controls and light steering provide excellent control in urban settings.

Design

The Daytona 660’s lightweight sports frame, combined with top-quality Showa 41mm upside-down, big-piston front forks and a Showa rear suspension unit, delivers agile and responsive handling. The rear suspension includes preload adjustment for easy set-up changes. Lightweight five-spoked cast aluminium wheels contribute to a responsive ride and enhanced suspension performance. Fitted with Michelin’s new Power 6 tyres, the bike promises confident handling in various conditions. The braking system features twin four-piston radial callipers paired with lightweight 310mm discs, braided lines, and a Continental ABS modulator, ensuring excellent stopping power and feel.

The bike's multi-functional instruments include a color TFT screen integrated into a white-on-black LCD display, providing clear rider information in various light conditions. The My Triumph Connectivity System, available as an accessory, offers turn-by-turn navigation, phone, and music interaction, all displayed on the TFT screen and controlled via the switchgear.

The split rider and pillion seats, with an 810mm seat height and narrow stand-over, make the bike accessible for riders of all sizes. An accessory low seat is also available, reducing the seat height to 785mm.

How riders can customise Daytona 660

Riders can customise the Daytona 660 with over 30 Genuine Triumph Accessories, all designed and tested to the same high standards as the motorcycle. Options include a color-coded seat cowl, billet-machined parts like an oil filler cap and bar end finishers, and practical additions like heated grips, a USB socket, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). A tank bag and tail pack add 20 litres of carrying capacity.

New security accessories, including the Triumph Protect+ alarm system and Triumph Track+ tracker with 24/7 monitoring, offer enhanced protection. A comprehensive range of locks is also available.

Steve Sargent, Triumph’s Chief Product Officer, expressed excitement about the new release.

“The Daytona 660 has all the attitude and agility you’d expect from the Daytona name, and brings with it the thrilling, usable, real-world performance and all-day comfort that riders today are looking for. We are excited by the impact the Daytona 660 is going to have on the growing middleweight sports world.”
