Blue Energy Motors, a company specialising in green fuel trucks, has achieved a significant milestone by rolling out and selling its 500th truck from its smart manufacturing facility in Pune. This achievement marks a crucial step towards sustainability, as Blue Energy Motors' LNG trucks emit fewer greenhouse gases compared to traditional diesel trucks. The company is rapidly increasing its production, providing the heavy-duty trucking industry with an economically viable option to reduce its carbon footprint immediately and contribute positively to climate change.

The milestone event took place at the Chakan facility in Pune, attended by Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, along with the senior leadership team. Speaking on the occasion, Bhuwalka expressed pride in the company's achievements.

“We are immensely proud to celebrate this milestone of roll out and invoicing of our 500th LNG truck. This achievement reflects our commitment to sustainable transportation and innovation while paving way for the decarbonisation of the trucking sector. Our dedicated team and valued customers, including Fortune 500 Indian conglomerates in core sector industries as Cement, Steel etc., have been integral to this success. We look forward to driving further advancements in clean energy solutions in for the future.”

Features

With over 20 million kilometers covered by its fleet of LNG trucks, Blue Energy Motors has significantly reduced emissions, cutting down over 5000 tonnes of CO2. The company entered the LNG-fuelled truck market in September 2022 with the BE 5528+ tractor model. This truck has successfully reduced the logistics carbon footprints in sectors such as cement and steel. The BE 5528+ is equipped with FPT multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine technology, offering class-leading Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and quieter operation compared to conventional fuel-powered trucks.

With a powerful performance of 280 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque, the BE 5528+ is one of the most robust LNG trucks in the Indian market. It features a 990L fuel tank, the first of its kind in the industry, providing a range of up to 1400 kilometers on a single fill, which ensures adequate coverage across key routes as the LNG dispensing network gets expanded. The driver's cab is spacious and designed for comfort, with an air-suspended seat and automatic climate control, making long-distance drives more comfortable.

Tech and capacity

The truck's performance parameters are continuously monitored using AI and ML-enabled proprietary telematics, ensuring high productivity. This is supported by Blue Energy Motors' network of service touchpoints. The company boasts a 10,000-truck installed capacity, which can be further expanded as market demand increases, positioning Blue Energy Motors as a significant player in clean energy heavy-duty trucking.
