By offering models that resonate with local traditions, Volkswagen aims to reinforce its brand presence and appeal in the Kerala region, driving customer interest and engagement with its products.
Volkswagen Passenger Cars India marked a notable delivery event in Kerala on the first day of the Malayalam New Year, Chingam, by delivering 101 cars to customers. This event involved various Volkswagen models and underscores the brand's presence in the Kerala market. Additionally, the company received 55 bookings for its newly launched Onam Edition cars, the Taigun and Virtus, within 10 days of their introduction.

The delivery event took place across Kerala, reflecting Volkswagen's reach and engagement within the local market. The significant number of deliveries on a culturally important day highlights the company's strategic alignment with regional festivities.

Volkswagen indicates that the introduction of these special edition models is part of its strategy to align with local preferences and traditions. The company suggests that the bookings and deliveries demonstrate customer interest in its products in the Kerala region.

"Volkswagen states that this delivery event reflects the brand's presence in the Kerala market."

In addition to the Onam Edition cars, Volkswagen's efforts to mark the regional occasion evidently resonated well with the customers, as seen by the quick uptake of bookings.

"The timing of this event and the introduction of region-specific editions appear to be part of Volkswagen's efforts to engage with the local market during a culturally significant period."

The Taigun Onam Edition is based on the higher-spec GT Line variant and includes features like an all-black interior and exterior, 17-inch ‘Cassino’ alloy wheels, an 8-inch digital driver display, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, a powered sunroof, ventilated front seats, and automatic climate control. Meanwhile, the Virtus Onam Edition is built on the Highline variant and shares most features with the Taigun Onam, except for the sunroof.

Considering their prices, the Onam Editions cost the same as the variants they are based on. Both models are equipped with a 115hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

"Volkswagen has confirmed that the Taigun Onam Edition model is based on the higher-spec GT Line variant, which means it shares the same features and safety kit."

By offering models that resonate with local traditions, Volkswagen aims to reinforce its brand presence and appeal in the Kerala region, driving customer interest and engagement with its products.
