IntrCity SmartBus expands fleet in West India amid 60 percent surge in travel demand

IntrCity SmartBus, India's inter-city mobility platform, is thrilled to announce its expansion in West India, focusing on Mumbai and Pune. The brand plans to add 50 more routes in the region.

This strategic move is driven by a substantial 60 percent surge in demand this summer holiday season compared to last year. The West region, which includes Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Goa, has been at the forefront of this growth with an average occupancy rate of 98 percent.

The company is set to increase its fleet size by 300 percent within the year to meet this rising demand and enhance travel connectivity in these dynamic regions. Additionally, it will add 100 washroom-equipped buses in the west, significantly enhancing convenience and comfort for travellers.

Recently, exclusive boarding lounges were launched in Mumbai, Pune, Goa, and Indore, further strengthening the commitment to providing safe and comfortable boarding experiences for passengers. More boarding lounges are planned for introduction in the next quarter.

The brand continues to prioritize passenger satisfaction through continuous innovation and investments in advanced technology. The company's expanded fleet will enable more frequent services, expanded routes, and improved travel experiences for passengers throughout West India.

Commenting on the expansion, Dharmesh Kumar, Regional Head (West) at IntrCity SmartBus, said, "We are delighted by the significant increase in demand in the vibrant West region. Our dedication to offering safe, comfortable, and reliable travel options remains steadfast. Expanding our presence in Mumbai and Pune is a strategic effort to meet our customers' evolving needs and ensure seamless connectivity throughout West India."

The service offers a fleet of luxury buses equipped with a host of amenities designed to provide a superior travel experience. Buses feature built-in washrooms, sleeper berths with ample legroom, and spacious seating to stretch out and relax, ensuring passengers enjoy a smooth and comfortable journey. Punctual, reliable, and safe journeys are ensured with real-time GPS tracking.
