This particular segment invites purists riders who want to focus on the original, and at the same time enjoy dynamic riding. A standard warranty covers all BMW Motorrad bikes for three years with unlimited kilometers, with an optional extension to the fourth and fifth years. Additionally, a 24x7 365-day Road-Side Assistance package ensures prompt service for breakdowns and towing needs.

The BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 models are designed as a roadster and a cruiser, respectively, both featuring classic designs and optimal ergonomics. The R 12 nineT highlights include an aluminum tank with brushed and clear-coated side panels and a dynamic line created by the seat and tail-hump. On the R 12, the steel tank reminiscent of 1970s BMW “Toaster Tanks” forms a teardrop shape, complemented by a large 19-inch front wheel and a smaller 16-inch rear wheel for a harmonious look. The cruiser also offers a relaxed seating position with a low seat height and wide handlebars.

Attention to detail is evident in the heritage models, with features like an intricately designed front fender bracket and a LED headlight with a black-framed light guide element on the R 12 nineT. The instrument panel integrates seamlessly into the overall style.

Both new R 12 models are equipped with an air/oil-cooled boxer engine, delivering powerful performance. The engine has a 101 mm bore, 73 mm stroke, and 1,170 cc capacity. It produces 80 kW (109 hp) at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm in the R 12 nineT. The R 12 delivers 70 kW (95 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.

The rear wheel features a single disc brake with a 2-piston floating calliper and a 265 mm diameter. The R 12 nineT includes "Rain," "Road," and "Dynamic" riding modes as standard, while the R 12 features "Roll" and "Rock" riding modes, allowing riders to tailor the riding experience to their preferences.

Optional packages are available for both models. The Comfort package includes Hill Start Control Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, heated grips, and cruise control.

Option 719 “Aluminium” Style for the R 12 nineT combines traditional and dark look milled components with a vibrant solid Racing red frame for a heritage look, with a single seater enhancing the motorcycle's dynamism. Option 719 Style Avus Silver metallic paintwork offers dark contrasts highlighting the high-grade milled components package. Another standout is the Option 719 seat with gold-colored stitching and the design option exhaust system in the new R 12.

A comprehensive range of original BMW Motorcycle accessories and gear is available for further individualization, allowing customers to customize their bikes to their tastes.
